Mumbai’s Special CBI court has rejected the interim bail plea of Shyamwar Rai, an accused-turned-approver in the Sheena Bora murder case. Rai, who is currently lodged in Thane jail, had sought temporary bail for 45 days, citing the risk of contracting COVID-19 in prison. His petition, filed through email, was rejected by
Special CBI Judge J C Jagdale yesterday.
Rai was arrested in 2015 in connection with an illegal firearm case. He spilled the beans on Sheena’s murder mystery involving Indrani Mukerjea, Sanjeev Khanna and Peter Mukerjea during the questioning.
