Governor of Maharashtra Mr. C. P. Radhakrishnan has said that special efforts should be made to extend the benefits of various schemes of the government to the last person of the tribal population in the state.
A meeting on creating an ideal tribal village on a pilot basis in the tribal district and establishing an independent university for tribal students in Maharashtra was held at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan said that the idea of an ideal tribal village in the state will be important in the
development of the country. He added that these villages should be provided with roads, clean drinking water, infrastructure, medical facilities, quality education, sustainable agricultural development, vocational training and encouragement of entrepreneurship.
He added that the government intends to provide the best education for the tribal students from KG to PG. The governor emphasised that efforts should be made to fulfil the dreams of tribal students by providing more reserved seats in the proposed tribal universities.
