Kakinada: Central Jail authorities in Rajamahendravaram have arranged a special room just after crossing the main gate for AP CID officials to interrogate former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
According to sources, jail authorities received 30 pages of instructions from the ACB Court about the interrogation of the former CM.
A team of 10 CID members and two advocates will reach the Central Jail. The advocates will sit at a distance of 10 metres from CID officials, who will interrogate Naidu.
At present, the former chief minister is in remand at the Sneha block of Central Jail amid full security and CC cameras. If authorities are permitted to use
the same premises for interrogation, it will pose the danger of proceedings being leaked, owing to the presence of cameras. Hence, jail authorities have arranged a separate room.
There is a campaign going on that Central Jail authorities have received 7.43 lakh postcards stating "Babutho Nenu (I am with Babu)".
Prisons DIG M.R. Ravi Kiran told that jail authorities are making arrangements for CID to interrogate the former CM as per the court’s instructions. On the postcards, he said they have not counted them. But the jail personnel have received postcards. These will be scrutinised before being released, the DIG stated.
