Special Session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be held today. Governor PB Acharya has summoned the emergent session to facilitate the newly appointed Chief Minister TR Zeliang to prove his majority in the Assembly.
Governor appointed TR Zeliang as the new Chief Minister on Wednesday but with the condition to prove his majority on the Floor of the Assembly by tomorrow. The session will begin at 9:30 this morning with moving of motion of the confidence motion by Mr Zeliang.

MLA, although he has been expelled from the party for six years, as per the Tenth Schedule amendment of 2006, which says an elected member of any party cannot be declared unattached in the Assembly even though he is expelled by the party.
Zeliang took over the mantle after incumbent chief minister Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu was dismissed by Governor P B Acharya, capping a rebellion in the ruling NPF he had spearheaded.Zeliang was appointed chief minister for the second time under the third term of the NPF-led DAN government. He was compelled to step down as chief minister in February this year in the face of massive protest against his government for conducting elections to urban local bodies with 33 per cent reservation for women.
