The first Water Express train carrying five lakh liters of water reached drought hit Latur in Marathwada region of Maharashtra early this morning. Train was welcomed at Latur Station by Municipal Commissioner Sudhakare Telang and District Collector Pandurang Pole.
Lot of people also
gathered to see arrival of much awaited water. The Sangli district administration is working day and night to complete the 2,700-metre supply line to bring water from the railways' filter house to the railway yard. In the meantime 50 more wagons are expected to come from Kota Rajasthan.
