Heavy rains lashed many districts of Rajasthan. During the past 24 hours, a record 260 mm of rain has been recorded in Sriganganagar, which caused flood-like situation. Rain has broken the record of the last 44 years. In view of the heavy rains in the district and the forecast of the Met Department, the district administration has closed all government and private schools in Sriganganagar city till further orders.

Heavy rain lashed the Sriganganagar city, due to which houses and shops were flooded. The power supply was disrupted in many areas of the city and many houses were



damaged.

District Collector Rukmani Riar told that water is being extracted from the low-lying areas with help of Army and SDRF teams.

There was heavy rain in Bikaner and Jodhpur districts too. Udaipur, Sirohi, Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Alwar, Dungarpur and Jaisalmer districts have also recorded heavy rainfall at isolated places and very heavy rainfall at one or two places in the last 24 hours.

The Met Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions in the next 48 hours.
