Visakhapatnam: Srikakulam Road railway station has bagged the Best Station for Cleanliness Shield at the 68th Railway Week awards presented in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The accolade acknowledges the efforts made by station authorities and the team of 17 housekeeping and conservancy staff of the Srikakulam Road.
The station witnesses a daily footfall of nearly 8,500 passengers. Divisional railway manager Saurabh Prasad congratulated officers and staff of
Srikakulam Road. "Cleaning the entire premises in a single day is not feasible, so we managed to divide the work and ensure efficiency in the job, which has now gained recognition," he underlined.
At the awards ceremony, Waltair division secured the best efficiency shields in Electrical and Signal & Telecom. It shared the shield with Khurda Road in Operating and Survey & Construction.
