The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was partially re-opened for traffic yesterday after remaining cut off for two consecutive days due to heavy snowfall.
The nearly 300-km arterial highway was cleared off the snow and the debris left behind by landslides at few places and the stranded vehicles were allowed to proceed towards Srinagar. Officials said, the traffic will be allowed today if the weather
permits.
Air traffic at the Srinagar Airport also resumed following improvement in weather. Meanwhile, a medium danger avalanche warning has been issued for some avalanche-prone districts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. People have been advised not to venture into such areas.
In Delhi, there was a slight chill in the air following the first spell of winter rains on Saturday.
