The Srinagar-Leh National Highway will be reopened for civilian traffic from Sunday. Despite heavy snowfall this year on the Zojila pass, the highway will be thrown open for traffic in a record time of two months only.
The highway was closed for traffic on December 31st last year. The announcement
about reopening the highway was made by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, PK Pole, during a meeting held in Srinagar to review status of Srinagar-Sonamarg- Gumri (SSG) road.
For the time being, only one way traffic will be allowed to ply on the highway.
