Srinagar witnesses light snowfall

The Srinagar and other areas in Valley are witnessing light snowfall since wee hours. The areas in Qazigund, Jawahar tunnel are also experiencing light snowfall. Few cms of snow has accumulated in Srinagar and some other areas. The divisional administration has already issued weather advisory and asked deputy commissioners in south Kashmir's Anantnag and Kupwara district in north Kashmir besides other districts to take all requisite measures to meet any



eventuality.

Meteorological department has predicted fairly widespread rains and snowfall in Kashmir from today. The department said that snowfall could be heavy in the higher reaches while rain and moderate snowfall may occur in the plains. The traffic authorities said that subject to fair weather and good road condition, the one way traffic on Srinagar Jammu highway will be allowed to ply from Srinagar to Jammu from 9 am today.
