The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has revoked Stage-III of Graded Response Action Plan-GRAP in the entire NCR with immediate effect in view of significant improvement in the average air quality. The decision was taken after the Sub-Committee for operationalization of GRAP reviewed the current air quality scenario in the region yesterday.

The Committee observed that Air Quality Index, AQI of Delhi has been progressively improving and has been recorded as 346 at 4 PM which is about 55 AQI points below the threshold for invoking the GRAP Stage-III actions and there is a likelihood of sustaining the improvement in AQI. Stage 3 of GRAP was invoked

on 22nd of last month in view of the deteriorating air quality.

However, all actions under Stage-I to Stage-II of GRAP will remain in force and be implemented, intensified, monitored and reviewed by all agencies concerned in the entire NCR to ensure that the Air Quality Index level do not slip further to the ‘Severe’ category in the coming days.

According to the Commission, construction and demolition project sites and industrial units which have been issued specific closure orders on account of non-compliance of various statutory directions, will resume their operations.
