Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said, all states have been asked to conduct a survey of Rohingya Muslims living in the country.

Mr Singh was responding to questions about the steps taken by the Home Ministry to deport the Rohingyas at a press conference in Jammu yesterday.

The Minister said, an advisory has been issued to all states that no legal

document should be given to the community that would help them claim citizenship of the country in future.

Mr Singh said, the process of deportation of the Rohingyas would begin once the survey information from all the states reaches the ministry. Over ten thousand Rohingya Muslims are living in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
