Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grandnephew, said that the time has come to ban fundamental organisations that divide the country.

In an exclusive interview, Chandra Kumar Bose said he had quit the post of vice president of Bengal BJP over the Citizenship Amendment Act, as he thought it had religious connotations.

He, however, is still with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

"Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had

banned groups which were destructive. These groups are trying to disunite communities now. They need to be restricted," he said.

"Netaji had said nothing can be expected from Hindu Mahasabha nor Muslim League. I second this," he added.

When asked whether he was referring to the RSS, Chandra Kumar Bose said the RSS should not interfere in politics.

"RRS does good social work. They should not interfere in politics," he said.
