Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has petitioned the Delhi High Court, seeking direction from the Union Home Ministry to cancel the Indian citizenship of Rahul Gandhi when the Congress leader has “declared himself as a British citizen.”

In a post on X on Friday, Swamy said that he has filed a

public interest litigation (PIL) on the failure of the Centre to prosecute Rahul Gandhi and show cause why he should not be stripped of his Indian citizenship.

The plea seeks direction to furnish a status report on the complaint/representation filed by Swamy against Gandhi and decide it at the earliest.
