Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will leading the Indian delegation at the eighth Conference of the Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians to be held in Colombo from tomorrow. 

According to a statement issued by the Lok Sabha secretariat, Mrs Mahajan will deliver the lead speech on the topic Association of the SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians, a platform for the Parliamentarians of South Asia to work together to reach the 2030 agenda for Sustainable



Development.

The three-day conference will be inaugurated by Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will deliver address.Lok Sabha speaker will also meet Sri Lankan President and Prime minister to discuss issues of mutual interest between the two neighbouring countries. The speaker will also participate in the 70th anniversary celebrations of Sri Lankan Parliament at a special session to be held today. She is accompanied by a delegation of MPs and senior officials of Lok Sabha.
