The Supreme Court issued notices to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Central government over pleas alleging paper leaks and malpractices in the conduct of NEET-UG 2024 examination.
The apex court observed that even a minor negligence needs to be dealt with thoroughly. Issuing notices to the NTA and the Centre, the court said even a 0.001 percent negligence must be dealt with completely. The court also observed that it cannot forget the labour medical aspirants had put in to prepare for the one of the toughest entrance examinations
in the country.
The observation came during hearing of the matter by a vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti. The next hearing in the matter has been listed on July 8.
The apex court also said the litigation pertaining to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate)-2024 examination ought not be treated as adversarial and instead rectify the mistakes. The Supreme Court had also reiterated that it will not stay the NEET counselling.
