External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will embark on a two day visit to Nepal today. She will hold discussions with various political leaders on issues of mutual interest and to enhance age-old special ties of friendship between India and Nepal during her stay at Kathmandu.
On Thursday, Mrs. Swaraj will meet Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Chairman K.P.Sharma Oli, who is likely to be the new Prime Minister of Nepal. Later she will meet senior leaders of Rashtriya Janta Party
Nepal.
The Minister will meet Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) Chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba the next day. Mrs. Swaraj will also call on President Vidya Devi Bhandari.
The visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level political exchanges between India and Nepal. It is expected to expand and further strengthen bilateral partnership across diverse sectors.
