Swatantra Dev Singh has been appointed as the new Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief.  Singh is currently a minister in Yogi Adityanath government.

Chandrakant Patil, who is the minister in Maharashtra government will be the new chief of the BJP's Maharashtra unit. 

Mangal Prabhat Lodha is the new BJP President of Mumbai. The party announced these appointments yesterday.

Chandrakant Patil as the Maharashtra state BJP chief comes a few months before the Assembly elections of Maharashtra. 

Patil, a Cabinet Minister in the state government, replaced Raosaheb Danve who is now Minister of State (MoS) of Consumer Affairs in the Union Cabinet. 

The BJP has a 'one-person, one-post' principle, wherein a minister cannot be State President at a time.
