Syed Akbaruddin appointed as India's envoy to UN

Syed Akbaruddin, former MEA spokesperson, has been appointed as Permanent Representative of India to United Nations.

Akbaruddin will take over Asoke Kumar Mukerji as the Permanent

Representative of India at the UN.

Presently working as additional secretary in Ministry of External Affairs, Akbaruddin served as official spokesperson from 2011 to April 2015.
