Tamil Nadu celebrates Thiruvalluvar Day today

Tamil Nadu celebrates Thiruvalluvar Day today in the honour of the poet Thiruvalluvar. Valluvar's couplets on discipline life love money politics and a lot of other issues are followed worldwide.

 

His exceptional contribution of 1330 kurals or couplets are translated into many Indian and international



languages. He is also called a divine poet because of his couplets which is an inspiration to lead an exemplary life. Thiruvalluvar day is celebrated on the 2nd day of the Thai month.

 

Every year the State Government honours the patrons of the Tamil literature and culture.
