Tamilnadu Chief Minister Stalin has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give the HLL Bio tech Limited on a lease basis to the Tamilnadu Government for manufacture of vaccines. In a letter to Prime Minister yesterday, Stalin referred to the dire need of more vaccines in the State.
 
He said that the State could start manufacturing vaccines if permission is given by the Centre immediately. He has said that the State should be given a free hand on this issue. HLL Bio tech is a hundred percent subsidiary of HLL life care limited, a government of India enterprise under the Ministry of health and family welfare. 

A review meeting chaired by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin was held at the State Secretariat Chennai. Top officials of all the departments connected with Covid



related activities are at the meeting to discuss about extending the lock down period which ends on the 31st of this month.
 
The Tamilnadu Government has asked volunteers interested in working for covid relief to register themselves to enable better co ordination with the Government. The State's coordination team has launched a seperate facebook and mail account with the Covid War room  unit. The Government is also distributing one lakh food packets to the Covid patients and their dependants during the lock down period. 

The food packets are distributed through the State Government's  hindu religious and charitable endowment Ministry. The State has received 1327 metric tonnes of oxygen through railways till now.
