Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has extended lockdown in the state with some relaxations till the 28th of this month. In a statement yesterday, the Chief Minister said that districts have been classified according to the prevailing Covid situation.
Relaxations have been allowed according to three categories in the State. Eleven districts including Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Salem and Erode have been classified into number one category. Covid situation in these western districts are still a cause for concern.
23 districts including Madurai, Tiruchi, Thoothukudi, Perambalur and Dharmapuri are classified into second category. Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet are into the third category. Stand-alone shops are allowed to function from morning six to evening seven pm in
category three districts. film and TV shooting and post-production activities have been allowed with a minimum of hundred people.
Maintenance work in theatres have been allowed for a day in a week after permission from VAO. Public transport like buses and metro trains will be allowed with fifty percent passenger capacity without air-condition facilities.
Buses are allowed to travel within the districts of Chennai, Chengelpet, Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram, Private autos and taxis will be allowed after e registration, Weddings are allowed in category two and three districts with 50 people in attendance and e registration.
The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to follow Covid protocols at all times and avoid unnecessary travel.
