The Tamil Nadu Government has announced compensation packages for the losses suffered due to the Cyclone Nivar. Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy said in a statement last night that four people died due to the cyclone and that their families will be given a solarium of ten lakh rupees each.
Thirty thousand rupees each will be given as the compensation for the cows that were killed, 25-thousand rupees for buffalos, 16-thousand rupees for the calves and three
thousand rupees for the sheep. In addition, financial aid will be given for the huts in proportion to the damages.
For the crop loss, the Chief Minister has assured that the compensation will be given after the assessment of the damages. In the state electricity distribution network, 108 transformers and 2927 poles were destroyed and the staff are replacing them to restore power supply in the affected areas.
