Chennai: Tamilnadu Government has extended the existing Covid-19 restrictions till 31st of this month. The decision was taken after a review meeting led by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin yesterday. 

All social cultural and political gatherings which have not been permitted will continue to be banned along with new year's eve and New Year day celebrations on beaches across the State. 

Offline Classes from 6th standard to 12th standard and all higher educational institutions will resume from January 3 2022. Swimming pools have



been allowed to operate. Public halls can also be kept open for permitted events. Other restrictions and covid protocols will remain in place.  

The public have been asked to strictly adhere to safety precautions issued by the health department to wear masks, maintain physical distance and avoid crowded areas.

Thermal screening, hand sanitizers are mandatory while entering shops, district administrations have been instructed to micro-manage restrictions in covid affected areas.
