Chennai: Tamil Nadu has joined the list of states that have lifted the Covid-19 curbs, as the spread of the infection has greatly been controlled. A notification from the state health department yesterday says the decision on the withdrawal of the earlier notifications on Covid-19 control stand withdrawn as there is considerable reduction in the daily counts of fresh infections and as the vaccination record is very impressive.

However, the order says the wearing of masks, hand hygiene and avoiding crowds can be encouraged among the public to follow on a voluntary basis.

After close to two years of intensive curbs to check the spread of the SARSCoV2 virus, the Tamil Nadu Government has lifted the

The fresh cases of Covid infection have also come down drastically. Yesterday’s tally indicates that, in the last 24 hours, 23 people got infected with the virus and no loss of life has been reported from any of the districts.

The number of active cases has also come down to 275, which continues to see an exponential fall every day, enabling the administration to withdraw the curbs.
