Tamilnadu manages election related works amid upsurge in Covid cases

Tamilnadu  Government is having two important issues to tackle at the same time. Contain the upsurge in Covid cases and at the same time manage election related works. Election rallies in Tamil Nadu are known for their huge numbers and ironically crowd gathering is the source of Covid spread. With less than two weeks to go for the polls,  the district administrations are multi tasking as they are  responsible for handling these challenges one at a time.

 

Electioneering is in full swing at all districts and officials have to prepare for the movement of VVIP visits to constituencies, rallies, handling electoral procedures like transporting EVMs, VVPAT machines, Video Conferences on election and Covid



situation. The list  seems to be more than a handful.

 

Despite all this district administrations are keen on hundred percent voting so that no voter is left out is the prime objective of the assembly election. Control rooms have been set up to receive complaints related to violation of model code of conduct apart from the C Vigil App.

 

Flying squads are on round the clock routines to check out movement of cash, jewellery and gift items without proper documents. Flag marches on the importance of exercising the franchise is also being held in some districts. Election observers are monitoring the expenses and law and order in various constituencies.
