Tea sector is totally unhappy over the negligence in Union Budget

Kolkata:Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's maintain's complete silence regarding the tea industry in her Budget speech.

S. Mukherjee, the principal advisor for the Darjeeling Tea Association (DTA), said that the tea industry was probably the only



industrial sector that didn't get any kind of industry stimulus package or subsidy.

He noted that the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce and Industry's recommendations for a one-time package to revive Darjeeling's tea industry were also ignored.
