The Budget session of Telangana Assembly would run for 14 days till March 29, with a provision to extend business by another two days.
This was decided at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Legislature presided by the Speaker S Madhusudana Chary and attended by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, attended by the Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy and the leaders of other political parties.
It was decided to take up the motion of thanks on the Governor's address on March 12 and 13. Finance Minister Etela Rajender would present the annual budget on March 14. There would be no
sitting on March 15; which could be used by the members to study the budget.
The House would again function from March 16 to 22. This is followed by three holidays between March 23 and March 25. The House would function again on March 26, 27 (Sunday), 28 and 29.
According to sources, the government has in principle agreed to the request of opposition parties to run the house for two additional days i.e. up to March 31. The Chief Minister said the government was ready for discussion on any subject and would allocate more number of days if needed after the Appropriation bill.
