The division of the IAS officers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was completed on Friday, following the orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training.
Consequently the number of IAS officers in Telangana rose to 208 following the addition of 41 to previous strength of 167.
The division and allocation of the officers has been effected by the Centre depending on the departments and the need, while taking into
consideration the officers’ seniority.
According to the orders, the State has been allocated a CSO and two special CS officers, besides 16 chief secretary rank officers, 18 secretary-level officers, and 19 commissioner-level officers.
The others allotted include ten collectors, 11 joint collectors and 21 directors. Five other joint collectors have been given the rank of project directors and three as GHMC commissioners.
