The State government on Friday said that every district would get Rs 30 lakh for celebrating State Formation Day on June 2. Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma held a video conference at the Secretariat here on Friday with District Collectors and others and discussed various arrangements for the celebrations.
On the occasion, Rajiv Sharma said that the State government was releasing Rs 30 lakh for each district for the purpose and added that celebrations should be conducted on a grand scale. He said that the officials at districts, towns, municipalities, mandals and villages should direct their staff members for conducting the event successfully.
The officials were asked to take steps to illuminate main thoroughfares, junctions, government offices, market yards, cooperative societies, theatres and private offices. The Chief Secretary also directed officials to conduct special programmes like rallies, runs, debates, kavi sammelanams, mushairas and said that competitions should be conducted besides felicitating 25 eminent
personalities of various fields in a fitting manner.
He further added that distribution of fruits, bread and milk at orphanages, conducting blood donation camps and other kind activities must be conducted properly. Wide publicity should be given by erecting hoardings, wall-posters and pamphlets must be distributed among people for spreading the importance of State formation in districts, towns, mandal headquarters and villages, he added.
As part of celebrations, officials should take steps for conducting dog, horse shows and a clean drive for seven days should be taken up at district headquarters, municipalities, mandals and villages and reports must be submitted to the government based on the programmes conducted.
Rajiv Sharma also said that the kin of Telangana martyrs should participate in statehood festivities, besides youth and women associations, IKP groups, voluntary organisations and sports associations. Special prayers would also be conducted at temples, mosques, churches and gurudwaras.
