Telangana Health Department has now introduced a free Home Isolation Kit for Covid-19 patients who are in home isolation.
The Home Isolation Kit is vital because nearly 83 per cent of Covid-19 patients in the State are either asymptomatic or mild and are under home isolation. A few weeks ago, the Health Department said there were more than 12,000 Covid patients under home isolation and close to 6,000 patients who had recovered from Covid-19 through home isolation.
Not many patients will have the financial resources to either consult a physician or purchase medicines during isolation. With such a large number of positive cases at home, health officials are hoping
that through the kits, they will be able to guide the patients with proper information in adhering to home isolation guidelines.
“The State government has decided to supply such kits containing basic medicines and safety equipment, including masks, for all patients who are under home isolation. We are providing all these basic items free of cost. The kits will also contain vital information to guide such patients,” Health Minister Etela Rajender said.
The isolation kits come with Vitamin C and B-Complex tablets, masks, liquid hand wash and gloves. More importantly, it comes with the contact details of the medical officers and ANM/ who make frequent visits to homes of patients to check on them.
