The supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG in Telangana has come to a standstill with the Telangana Petrol Tankers Association have called for a strike from Sunday midnight against the imposition of VAT.
Demanding an immediate withdrawal of 14.5 percent VAT being imposed on transportation charges, Telangana Petroleum Tank Trucks Owners
association president K Rajashekhar Reddy launched the strike. Commercial Taxes department and oil marketing company officials held talks with the Association on Saturday in an effort to convince them to call off the impending strike. However, the outcome has not been in their favour following which the Association decided to go on strike.
