The Telangana government on Tuesday constituted a Cabinet
Sub-Committee headed by Home minister N Narasimha Reddy to oversee the
arrangements being made to celebrate the second anniversary of Telangana
Formation Day celebrations in a grand manner across the State on June 2.
Besides organising day- long programmes, the State government will felicitate 50 people who have excelled in different fields at the State level and 25 members from every district. The government has also planned a glittering programme at Tank Bund on the night of June 2 which apart from featuring cultural shows will also have a fireworks display.
The committee comprising State Finance minister E Rajender, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao, Tourism and Culture Minister Chandulal and Panchayat Raj Minister J Krishna Rao would hold their first meeting on Wednesday.
Reviewing
the
arrangements, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao instructed the officials to organise
Telangana cultural programmes in all educational institutions apart from blood
donation camps, distribution of clothes and fruits to poor and medical patients
and illumination and flower decoration of all government offices and important
historical places.
KCR said he would participate in the Formation Day celebrations along with the Governor, and his Cabinet colleagues. He will hoist India’s largest tri-color flag at the Tank Bund area.
He also instructed district officials to felicitate Telangana martyrs on the occasion. Arrangements are also being made to telecast the programme live on television by the State Information and Public Relations Department. Traffic coordination, water supply to participants, emergency medical services, installation of mobile toilets and uninterrupted power supply at important venues, are the focus areas.
