Telangana will join the Uday programme that the Central Government introduced to bailout electricity distribution companies from the losses. Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has informed this to Union Power Minister Piyush Goel who called on him in Hyderabad last evening.
He also welcomed the FRBM relaxations which provide loans to the distribution companies. The two leaders reviewed the progress of various programmes of the Power
ministry.
Later, the Chief Minister’s Office in a release said the Union Minister agreed to give more funds under the Din Dayal Upadhyaya Scheme and also to give more coal for power projects in Telangana.
The Chief Minister informed that the usage of the LED lights will be further enhanced in the state while they have already replaced ordinary bulbs in 12 Municipalities and 26 Nagar Panchayats across the state.
