At least ten pilgrims were killed and 33 others injured when their bus plunged into a gorge following a terror attack near Teryath village in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday evening. The bus was returning from Shiv Khori cave shrine to Katra. Reasi SSP Mohita Sharma said, the driver was hit by gunfire and lost control of the vehicle. The injured have been taken to hospitals in Teryath, Reasi, and Jammu.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation and directed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to constantly monitor the situation and ensure all possible medical care and assistance to the injured pilgrims.

President Droupadi Murmu has expressed anguish over the terror attack on pilgrim’s bus in



Jammu and Kashmir. She said, the terrorist attack on the bus carrying pilgrims was a dastardly act and a crime against humanity, and must be condemned in the strongest words. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured, President said, the nation stood with the victims’ families.

Union Minister Amit Shah condemned the attack. He spoke to the Lieutenant Governor and the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, and inquired about the incident. Mr Shah said, the culprits of this dastardly attack will not be spared and will face the wrath of the law.

Union minister Rajnath Singh called the attack on pilgrims extremely reprehensible. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
