Thane railway station will be redeveloped as world class station: Ashwini Vaishnav

Thane: Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that Thane railway station in Maharashtra will be redeveloped as world-class station. He was addressing media in Thane yesterday while participating in a program of inauguration of new railway routes.

The minister further said that, while developing Thane station, its heritage status will also be maintained. He said



that proposal to reduce the fare of AC local in Mumbai has been sent to Railway board and after due consideration, it will take decision soon.

A new scheme has been prepared with the state government to rehabilitate families that are going to be affected due to new rail lines between Airoli and Kalwa, the minister informed.
