Thanjavur: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan has said that the three Central Farm Laws will help the farmers to have a say over the prices of their products. Dr. Murugan, accompanied by the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment A. Narayanasamy, distributed assistive devices worth 1.48 crore rupees to scores of differently-abled people under the scheme called 'Assistance to the Disabled Persons for the Purchase of Aid and Appliances,' at Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu yesterday morning. 

The scheme is being administered by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Later, addressing the media persons, Dr Murugan said, the farm laws are not being opposed by any real farmer in any state except one or two states.



He said, the laws are being politicized, though it is aimed at helping the farmers to get attractive remunerations.

When asked about the arrest of Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu by the Sri Lankan Navy, he said, the details about the twenty-three fishermen, who are now under the custody of the neighbouring country, has been sought from the State Government to secure their early release with the help of the External Affairs Ministry.

On the question of the Cauvery issue, he said, the interests of the farmers of both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka will be safeguarded. Dr Murugan also said, the unsung heroes of the Indian freedom movement are being highlighted by the national public broadcasters All India Radio and Doordarshan.
