In Jharkhand, three hard-core Naxalites including a couple have been arrested from Shikaripara police station limits of Dumka district, police today said.
Acting on a tip off that 20-year-old hardcore Naxalite Chota Vimal alias Vimal Hembram arrived at his native place in Dharampur under Shikaripara police station, a police team along with Jharkhand Jaguar and SSB personnel conducted raid in the village and arrested him on Monday, Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar told a press conference in Dumka.
Kumar said the
police team also conducted a raid in Bankipur village under the same police station on Tuesday and picked up Diwan Singh and his wife Shanti Devi, who were on a visit to their native place, following leads provided by Vimal during police interrogation.
All the three Naxals were named accused in various Maoist-related incidents in the district, he said, adding that Vimal was allegedly involved in the killing of Pakur Superintendent of Police Amarjeet Balihar under Kathikund police station of the district on July 2, 2013.
