Three militants killed in encounter in Pulwama

In Jammu and Kashmir, three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Tral area of Pulwama district. Three AK 47 Rifles and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site. The gunfight broke out after Army and J&K Police launched an operation in Mir Mohalla of Dadsara village late yesterday evening. 

An Army spokesman told AIR that three militants killed belonged to militant



outfit Hizbul Mujahideen. Inspite of Police advisory to people against going closer to the encounter sites, hundreds of local residents reportedly made an attempt to rescue militants from the cordon in Dadsara area. 

However, the security forces used tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters before launching an assault on the holed up militants. The situation in the area was reported tense.
