The Mumbai Police investigating the double murder case of artist Hema Upadhyay (42) and her lawyer Harish Bhambani (65) have arrested three more persons in the case taking the total of arrested accused in the case to four.
The fresh arrests came a day after accused Shivkumar Rajbhar was arrested in Varanasi by the Uttar Pradesh special task force.
One of the arrested persons is the tempo driver Vikas Rajbhar, who tipped the police. Vikas, in his statement, told the police he unknowingly transported the cardboard boxes from the warehouse to the sewer in Kandivli
to be dumped. Vikas said he was told the boxes contained damaged antiques.
Other two accused arrested in the case are workers at the same warehouse where Hema and Bhambani were allegedly killed and stuffed in boxes.
The workers have been employed at the warehouse for over three years. Vikas regularly transported paintings and other items from the warehouse.
Shivkumar is likely to be brought to Mumbai from Varanasi on a transit remand. The police are now on the lookout for the main accused Vidhyadhar Rajbhar, who is currently absconding.
