Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought details on the terror attack on a police vehicle at Zewan in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar outskirts last evening. Three policemen were martyred and twelve others sustained injuries after terrorists fired indiscriminately upon the vehicle carrying 9th Battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police personnel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the families of the police personnel who attained martyrdom in the terror attack.

DGP Dilbagh Singh informed that one of the injured police personnel succumbed to the injuries late last night. He said, other injured personnel are



stable.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also strongly condemned the cowardly attack.  He paid homage to the martyred police personnel and expressed condolences to the bereaved families. He has directed the concerned authorities to provide best possible treatment to the injured police personnel and prayed for their speedy recovery.

Mr Sinha also said that his administration is committed to ensure that perpetrators of the terrorist attack are punished soon. He said that police and security forces are determined to neutralize the evil forces of terrorism in the Union Territory.
