Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) announced a remarkable hundi collection of Rs 108.46 crore for the month of November, primarily attributed to cash offerings (Kanukas) made by devotees at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala.
TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy revealed the temple's activities during the past month, highlighting a total of 19.73 lakh visits from devout pilgrims, 97.47 lakh laddus sold, 36.50 lakh devotees partaking in annaprasadam, and 7.06 lakh individuals offering head tonsuring as a symbolic gesture of surrender.
In anticipation of the upcoming Vaikunta Ekadasi festival, scheduled to be celebrated at Tirumala from December 23 to January 1, EO Dharma Reddy stated that special entry darshan tickets and Srivani trust-linked VIP darshan tickets are now available for online
booking. Additionally, the TTD is finalizing the process for issuing 4.23 lakh slotted Sarva darshan (free darshan) tokens, ensuring organized participation in the 10-day festival.
Meanwhile, Mumbai-based Vish Wind Infrastructure Limited has generously donated 800 kilowatts of electricity-generating turbines, valued at Rs 5 crore, to the TTD. EO Reddy, accompanied by TTD engineering officials, inspected the installation works in the GNC area.
The wind turbine is expected to generate 18 lakh units of electricity annually, resulting in savings of Rs 1 crore per year for the TTD. Vish Wind Infrastructure Limited had previously installed two wind turbines generating 1.03 megawatts of electricity for the TTD 15 years ago, and they continue to manage and maintain them.
