Tamil Nadu government has constituted an inquiry commission under a retired high court judge Justice Arumugasamy to probe former chief minister J Jayalalithaa's death. 

Announcing this today, state Chief Minister E K Palaniswami also declared to convert Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden residence in Chennai into a government-run memorial.A probe into the former Chief Minister’s death was a



key demand of the AIADMK faction headed by O Panneerselvam. 

The opposition in the state, led by the DMK, had called for a CBI probe into the treatment and death of the former chief minister.They cited a state minister Dindigul Srinivasan’s recent remarks that AIADMK leaders had lied about Jayalalithaa’s health during her hospitalisation.
