Campaigning for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election drawing to a close tomorrow evening, leaders have intensified their election tour in the state. Union Home Minister Rajnat Singh in a BJP rally at Mylapore, Chennai last night said, the freebie culture of the Dravidian parties cannot be a long term solution to the livelihood issues of the public. He said the BJP would emerge as a strong alternative to the AIADMK and the DMK in the state.

yesterday at Tirunelveli and said she has fulfilled all her promises made in the party’s 2011 election manifesto. DMK patriarchal leader M.Karunanidhi in Tiruvarur assured, farmers would be relieved of debt burden. Former Union Minister and TMC leader GK Vasan claimed in Pudukottai that only the People’s Welfare Front comprising the DMDK, the Left, the VCK and his party can bring in prohibition. Dr Anbumani Ramadoss of the PMK in Pennagaram said, industry in backward districts would be revived if his party wins the election.
