Today is the last day of withdrawal of the candidature for second phase of Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh and single phase Assembly Election in Goa and Uttarakhand. Pictures of the electoral battle will become clear in these states by this evening.
The polling in this phase will be conducted on 14th of February. In UP, 55 Assembly Constituencies from nine districts - Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Sambhal, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Badaun and Shahjahanpur will go to polls along with forty seats in Goa and 70 seats in Uttarakhand.
Nomination filing for the third Phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh and single phase polling in Punjab will come to close tomorrow. In this phase, fifty nine Assembly Constituencies of 16 districts in Uttar Pradesh and 117 seats in Punjab will go to polls on 20th
February.
The process of filing nominations for the Fourth Phase of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh is also underway. Last date for filing of nominations for this Phase is 3rd February. Polling will be held on 59 Assembly constituencies of nine districts on 23rd February in this phase.
Meanwhile, campaigning has gained full momentum in Uttar Pradesh for the first two phases and Goa and Uttarakhand for the single phase Assembly Elections.
Star Campaigners and prominent leaders of various political parties are engaged in public rallies after finalization of the candidates for the First Phase. Door to door canvassing and virtual appeals to the voters also continue. Party leaders are holding marathon meetings to finalize their electoral strategies and formations.
