Tomato farmers are facing a tough time as the price of the vegetable has dropped to Rs 4 per kg at the Aspari and Pathikonda markets, according to a news report. This season, tomato production has increased, leading to large quantities of tomatoes reaching the markets.

With the higher

supply, the demand has decreased, causing the price to fall to single digits. Two weeks ago, the price of 1 kg of tomatoes was Rs 20, and just a week ago, it had dropped to Rs 10. Farmers are concerned as the price has now plummeted to just Rs 4 per kg. They say they have no choice but to dump the tomatoes.
