Chief Election Commissioner AK Joti led team of senior Election Commission officials will begin two-day visit to Gujarat today.
The election commission team will review the preparedness for the Gujarat assembly polls, expected to be held within the next two months.In a release, state government said officers of the poll panel will meet representatives of the recognised political parties in Ahmedabad today.
The panel will also hold a meeting with all District Election Officers and senior police officers at Gandhinagar to review different aspects of election
management.The poll officials will flag off a mobile EVM-VVPAT Demonstration Centre, which will visit all assembly areas of Gandhinagar to create awareness about VVPATs.
The delegation will hold a meeting with nodal officers to discuss issues related to the election expenditure management as well as the law and order scenario tomorrow.
Poll panel will also hold a meeting with the state Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), and the Director General of Police to assess various aspects related to the law and order.
