SRINAGAR: Train service was again suspended on Saturday as a precautionary measure in the Kashmir valley, where four militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Anantnag district.

A state police constable and a civilian were also killed and several others injured in the encounter and subsequent demonstrations in the valley.

Train service was resumed only on Friday after remaining suspended for a day due to security reasons in the Kashmir valley, where separatists had called for a general strike in protest against the killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari by unidentified gunmen and civilians in security force action.

A fresh advisory was



received last night to suspend train service in the valley on Saturday, a senior railway official said.This is the seventh time, second in Governor's rule, train service had been suspended in the valley this month.

Therefore, no train will chug on Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla, on north Kashmir track today.

Similarly, trains will not run on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region, he said.

Four militants, including IS JK chief, were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces at Srigafwara Khiram in Anantnag on Friday during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO).
