With the politics around the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls heating up, the BJP has reaffirmed that Nitish Kumar will lead the NDA in the upcoming elections, brushing aside any speculations around the ruling alliance's chief ministerial face, sources said.
However, sources also said that Nitish Kumar will make a decision on whether to retain the Chief Minister's post or hand over the responsibility to someone else only after the election results are announced.
The BJP is conducting surveys across all assembly constituencies in Bihar to assess the political mood of the people. The allocation of seats among NDA allies will be determined based on the survey results, sources said, adding that
discussions on seat-sharing will take place once the survey findings are available, ensuring that the strongest candidate from each constituency is given the opportunity to contest.
The BJP, looking to replicate in Bihar its major success in the recent Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi elections, is conducting surveys in each Assembly segment to get the pulse of the voters.
The seat-sharing among NDA constituents will be finalised on the basis of the outcome of the survey. Which party gets how many Cabinet berths, should the NDA win, will also be decided on the basis of the survey's results. Interestingly, the number of Cabinet berths will be decided before the elections, according to sources.
