Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive New Delhi on Sunday on a two-day India visit. Addressing media in New Delhi yesterday, External Affairs Ministry Secretary (West) Ruchi Ghanashyam said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a delegation-level talks with Mr Erdogan on 1st May on key bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.
President Pranab Mukherjee will also host a dinner banquet in honour of the Turkish President. Strategic issues, including
India's NSG membership bid and ways to strengthen cooperation in counter-terrorism and trade are expected to be discussed during his visit.
Ms Ghanashyam said, Mr Erdogan will be accompanied by some cabinet ministers, senior officials and a 150-member business delegation that will take part in a a meeting of the India-Turkey Business Forum. Mr Erdogan is visiting India after he won a referendum in his country earlier this month which gave him more executive powers as President.
